This woman shows a lot of promise as both a songwriter and performer. This is a disc she probably felt she had to make now, and probably did mostly on her own, as it is not on any label. However it clocks in at only 23 plus minutes and that is way too short to really make an evaluation, a guess here might be that this was made to showcase her talent for a record deal. Many times when there is a new artist the first recording tends to be a bit lengthy because it is the first time they are putting something out and they have all this material they have been writing ready to go, admittedly there are some throwaways there. Here there are 6 songs, true none are discards, but that is very little to either judge by or to spend money on. I am not sure why, and she probably had some reasons she thought valid for such a miniscule output, but there is not enough of an output to make a valid statement about how good or bad.

That said, what is heard is good and as said above shows great promise. Her voice is strong and has a hook that grabs your ear, and yet it can take on a vulnerability that brings a sincerity to a song such as, “Soft Spot.” For the most the songs are well written tales of love and life. What is heard is above the average, however the brevity of the disc was annoying because there was promise.
