A beautiful voice that fits well with the picture of this very promising and up coming jazz singer. She also wrote 10 of the 13 compositions and does a very credible job on the arrangements of the covers. She has a voice that is like honey and seems to glide through the songs though there is little of the electricity that signals true originality and greatness has become one with the being. The band backing her on this disc is solid but never pushes her to take off and soar. There are great interludes of wonderful music where there is good touch and feel for what makes the song tick, however there are too few moments of greatness. Those moments where the song takes off and cuts its bonds and goes into the acrobatics or electricity that are required to free it from the forces of gravity. Her band is very good however for the most part they are too low key and laid back

in their delivery, very rarely does an instrument stand out and separate itself from the pack to lead for awhile; a couple of times Noam Lemish takes the piano to the forefront for a bar or two, but in the few moments where there is a breakthrough, it is Robben Ford’s electric guitar that startles the band into energy. There is great promise here but right now it is great music for the background of a conversation because it is not startling enough to make you stop and listen, very very pleasant but not grabbing or compelling.
