This 17-song collection from Mardi Gras Records is a collection that should not be missed due to its inclusion of many artists not included on some of the larger labels compilations. This company went of their way to find and put together a varied yet cohesive collection of artists and songs. On this disc we have a wide assortment of players that don’t often get to strut their stuff because they are not yet as well known outside of their regional turf for a variety of reasons. Artists such as Fernest Arceneaux and Jude Taylor showing off their chops on the piano accordion that was so favored by Clifton Chenier. There are romping numbers by The Zydeco All-Stars featuring Paul “Lil’ Buck” Sinegal on guitar, and there is also Thomas “Big Hat” Fields and his Foot Stompin’ Zydeco Band right along side of their more widely known
brethren Beau Jocque, and Rockin’ Doopsie Jr. The late Rockin’ Sidney is included not with My Toot Toot, but its close cousin Don’t Mess With My Tush. This is one of the most diverse and stimulating collections to come out in a long time. It is over an hour of some of the finest and most legitimate Zydeco music you will find. In fact the collections that Mardi Gras Records, Ultimate Mardi Gras being another, are putting out are standing out and setting bench marks for other companies.
