The amazing thing to me is that the gorgeous full sound captured on this disc is done a 4 track deck! This is Cajun dance music at its best, and it goes to show that you don't need a full band to get the dance floor hoppin'. I'm amazed at the fullness of the sound here, and again remember this is done with a 4 track, not with your most modern fancy digital 100 track equipment. The one thing missing here is a lot of the information about who does what, and very important to some, who wrote which songs. Since Waylon Thibodeaux is known as a fiddler I am going to assume he does most of the leads here, however there are some two fiddle leads that you know is not an overdub so we know that Gina sure can keep up and is no slouch herself on fiddle. Since she is credited with the lead guitar work, and both have credits with rhythm guitar, we also know she sure can fill the bill as an instrumentalist. As well as supplying the very tastefull lead guitar, she also supplies a lot of the underlying dance rhythm with her strumming. The vocals are handled with more than usual grace by this duo. Both have a long pedigree, hers perhaps being a bit more diverse, as she has a good name as a singer/songwriter on the folk circuit, but they sure do just get down and have a grand old good time here, that will leave you with a smile on your face and wishing to hear more.
