Vancouver based Tom Taylor is a songwriter, and the care he places in this craft is evident right from “I’ll Be Your Only” the opening song on this disc. He wrote all of the material and on 2 of the 11 he has a co-writer. He handles the lead vocals with his slightly raspy voice, which adds a bit of the world weary, experienced traveler to the sound. Jeanne Tolmie handles the harmony vocals and duets and she adds a lot of expression and support to Mr. Taylor’s vocals. The songs are strong and deal with all manner of relationships and take the listener on some interesting journeys.
For this disc he goes to Steve Dawson, most things with strings specialist, for support both as co-producer, with himself, and for some strong musical support on all manner of instruments; including acoustic and electric guitars,

weissenborn (an acoustic style lap steel guitar), pedal steel, pump organ, and glockenspiel. It is his playing at times that helps to drive the songs to that next level; he is one who is gifted when it comes to ‘guitar’ style instruments. They also get great performances and support from Geoff Hicks on drums and percussion; Darren Paris on bass; David Hughes on bass and finger style guitar on “I’ll Be Your Only,” bass on “Running Late,” and finger style guitar on “Any Day Now;” Franco Diligenti drums and percussion on “I’ll Be Your Only,” and “Running Late.” An exceptionally strong disc by this Canadian who doesn’t get enough airplay in this country.
