This band melds the rhythms of blues; the honk of jazz; the soul of R&B; and the Caribbean bounce with a strut that reflects a clear head and the knowledge that ‘you done it right’. This is the newest celebration of the life and the joy that is pervasive in New Orleans; and all the reasons to celebrate all that living, the life affirming ness of living in that city; the grittiness, the dirt, the musical rhythms of the city and the rhythms of the big river, the bouncy carefree easygoing attitude that pervades even the worst days, and all manner of friendships takes us on another musical journey of the beatitude that makes life there the excursion. The vocal harmonies that are the groups trademark are evident all throughout the disc.
This group is 5 musicians that can sing, write topical songs and harmonize; they know their groove is that laid back style that creeps up on you with subtlety, and before you realize it you
are out on the dance floor cutting it up. They don’t come crashing at you with volume or force, but rather an infectious groove that insinuates itself into your whole being. On this disc, which arguably contains some of their strongest songs to date, they all contributed; all but one of the songsare a collaborative group effort in some combination or another.
This is a good time disc that is going to put a smile on your face as you walk out to dance, be it on a dance floor or just roll up the rug at home. Quiet Dynamite.
