This is the gifted singer and songwriters first album in seven long years, and it proves why that is too long a stretch to go without a recording from this exceptional woman. 6 of the 10 tunes on the disc are ones she wrote, and she sure has a knack for picking exceptional songs to cover; for instance the duet with Paul Thorn, originally done by Ernie K-Doe, “Hello My Lover.” A real smoker closes the disc and that is done with Stevie Ray Vaughn, form “Live At Carnegie Hall,” and that is the blistering, “C.O.D.” The title

track was written about Marcia Ball, and Angela got Maria Muldaur and Marcia to sing on it. There is not any time off in this disc and it is a welcome gift to hear from Angela any time, and after all this time this disc is most welcome.
