This disc starts out with a stadium rocker titled IT ONLY GETS BETTER, and the same can be said of this whole disc. The disc carries a broad range of the Sister's music, from the above stadium rocker, to country with the close tight vocals that are now all the fad, to the Rancheras of their Mexican-American heritage. They sing in both English and Spanish with equal ease and sound perfectly at home in both of the languages. Their vocals are tight, they can be so interwoven it is as tough to separate them as it would be to split a hair lengthways. They voices weave around each other in that way that almost no one but siblings can do. They seem to hear and anticipate each other with that voice that only is audible from within the heart, but they bring that inner voice outside for us to hear. This newest of their discs features 8 English language songs, 4 being written by each of the sisters, and three Spanish language songs. The sisters have Houston as their base now, after an upbringing in Tucson, and have blended the musical sounds of their two bases and families with all that land and music that stretches between the two. They had a go with the Nashville scene, and the story is that the suits in Nashville tried to change everything about the girls to their concept of an image. I bet that those suits are dusty from kicking themselves all over the West Texas plains after hearing this disc. Listen to the twangy sounds in YOUR TURN TO CRY, or the country rocker, TOO DEEP OF WATER, and I'll bet those suits want to put their spurs on, after listening to what got away. The Sisters have a hidden weapon, that is Lisa's husband, David Spencer. He is probably one of the best unknown guitarists that is around. His sound whether on electric lead, steel guitar, or acoustic guitar is a very strong part of this music. While we are in that direction the tight band play shows that they have profited from playing

together since their initial disc, AIN'T NO PERFECT DIAMOND, in 1997. The real difference between the two discs is improvement, in songwriting, in the sister's voice, and in the ability of the band to propel the music. This is one of those gems that if you spend the time to search out you will be amply rewarded. I have a feeling that in the future the Sisters Morales will be headlining some of those big stadiums. There is just too much talent here.
