With a backdrop of the steamy swamps of Louisiana, add some Chicago style harp, a big dash of swamp squeeze box, stir in some smokin' players of many varieties, let the waters of the Mighty Mississippi ferment it, then pour thru a smoke and whiskey cured voice for the world to imbibe. Jumpin' Johnny has a strong band behind him that is only enhanced, and never overshadowed, by some of the special guest who show up. Their is the always tasteful smoking slide work of Sonny Landreth, and the infectious joy of the Iguanas among others to help Johnny here. Can you sit while listening to SWEET BABY? How about infectious rhythm of Destination Unknown, did you catch it? If you didn't you'd better see a mortician. This disc is the blues cut with a bits of swamp rock and zydeco, and all of it played with an infectious attitude of this is what is and you'd better enjoy it, because to fight it is futile. Even the slow, turgid, murky blues of the title cut has the same irresistible pull as the big waters and you better accept it as part of life. Not one to miss.
