This is a new studio release from this band that has been playing (with the same lineup!) for over 28 years, and it is a combination of new songs and old favorites redone with enough change to cause the listener to perk-up, but still the ring of familiarity. In that time they have taken their music to new levels and continually raised the bar for other bands from NOLA. Ed Volker, who does most of the lead vocals and plays keyboards, is the main songwriter on this disc and the chief architect of the sound though they are no greater than the sum of all the parts and each one individually seems to be well aware of this fact. This is truly a group and knows the reason they are chosen every year to close out Jazz Fest. in

their hometown. Dave Malone has contributed some fine guitar work and new songs, and the rhythm section of Frank Bua, drums, and Reggie Scanlan, bass, and Camile Baudoin, on rhythm guitar and lead, play with that steady intensity that only 28 years or togetherness brings. A wonderful new addition that adds to the band familiarity by extending it.
