Michael Penn has made a record set against the tableau of Los Angeles in 1947, with the changes that the end of a war brought to the people in the city.  Penn invokes the atmosphere of the post war euphoria and confusion with the music on the disc; it is not a retro sound however it takes the listener back.  He did this with the help of long time friends and collaborators; Patrick Warren on keyboards, Aimee Mann on bass and background vocals, and Buddy Judge on

harmony vocal.  Mr. Penn produced the disc himself.  The disc is moody and almost has the feel of a film score.  Definitely an interesting and thought provoking piece of work and leads the listener where the future will lead him.
