This opulent tapestry is fertile ground for this distinctive musician, who weaves the rich colors of jazz, rock, psychedelic, folk, country, and blues into a wonderful woven blanket for the ears, just give a listen to the opening of “Showbiz Blues,” that touches most of those bases.  The blues based body of the song shows his prowess at wringing tones out of his guitar that might leave you shaking your head, if it isn’t already bobbing with the beat of the music.  It is a disc filled with his daring solos that never get excessive; he knows the meaning of not playing at times.  His melodies and harmony create a warmth in the disc that most who strive for this elegant peak lose in the striving, and he makes these tones and music sound effortless and free flowing.

Love,” to the acoustic blues beginning of “Evolution,” through all the changes that occur in the song; and lets not forget the almost Django Reinhardt psychodelia of “Rollin’ With Zah.”  His songs are an adventure as you can’t be sure where he is going to take a song or the shifts that will be involved in getting there.  All you do know is the playing will be adventurous and incendiary and filled with his truth in playing.  He has his usual crew, and they are good backing him with a few guests thrown in to add some additional punch, as if any is needed to the various songs.  This is someone who was unknown to this listener, but shall be no more.  Open yourself up and take a chance on someone new and I will be quite sure you will be more than pleasantly surprised and become a fan.
