This outstanding disc is simply these two experienced expert guitarists playing together with no others to cloud the way, and no studio trickery (most of the songs were done in just a few takes). There are 11 songs including a stunning version of Bruce Springsteen’s, “I’m On Fire,” one traditional tune, “Death Have Mercy,” and the rest are written by one or the other or both of them. Harry does all the lead vocals and Kevin sings the backups and both play a plethora of stringed instruments including one guitar Harry made from a cigar-box. This is a reflection of that joy and instant friendship that comes and is reflected in the music when like minds come together. The music is blues based but is really these two bouncing ideas off each other and exploring all kinds of thoughts off one another and investigating the avenues that open up to them. Give a listen to the intertwining of the lap slide guitar (Harry) and the electric slide guitar (Kevin) on “Steal 6,”and feel the new areas that the

interplay lead them into and out of, new areas that were investigated and remain to be more thoroughly examined at some future date. This disc was conceived when the 2 were asked to do a workshop shook hands and got on stage together; no rehearsal, no set list, nothing but their instruments and minds; and the click when the minds met. The instant respect and friendship led to one disc and then this one which was to be done with another slide guitar wizard, Greg Leisz, who got sick at the last minute after studio time was paid for so they went ahead with the disc, with Greg to be included on a future one (something to look forward to in the hopefully not to distant future).
