These two veterans, Chris Gaffney and Dave Gonzalez, of an unknown number of bands of various genres of music from country, to R & B, to punk honky-tonk, team up with a veteran of music coming out of Muscle Shoals, Dan Penn, to give us their second disc of Southwestern Soul. The trio reunited in Tucson to hangout, write, and feel the inspiration where the former two have deep roots in the desert music scene. Some permutation of the former 2, along with Dan Penn, and their manager Jeb Schoonover wrote 8 of the 13 songs, and the covers are 2 by Penn/Oldham, a Gamble/Huff tune and one by

M.A. Rich. There is a great new version of “Cry Like A Baby,” the title cut is a great weeper, and the rest of the disc’s 47+ minutes is equally filled with the Honky Tonk Soul of the Desert as filtered through the Muscle Shoals production.
