This is American roots music filtered through Tucson Arizona’s eclectic music scene.  This quartet takes all of their long and extremely varied musical influences/experiences, and collectively comes up with parts that total a  homogeneous whole that makes a statement.  Danny Krieger and Steve Grams are both in the  Arizona Blues Hall of Fame, yet saying they are just bluesmen is doing a disservice to both them and their music.  Danny also plays in The Mollys, an Irish/Tex-Mex band and Steve plays with KGB, a jumpin’ jazz trio.  Ralph Gilmore and Richie Cavanaugh are both are both well traveled and well seasoned veteran musicians in a variety of styles.  Ralph is the drummer of choice for a variety of touring country bands in Texas and Arizona, and has also recorded with the late blues experimenter, Rainer .  Richie plays some of the finest most soulful and melodic guitar in the pop/jazz world, and has played with the likes of Straight Shot and The Air Brothers.  The songs, all written by the band (except number 8) in various combinations, reflect a sense of humor and with an experienced and weary on the world.  This is garage band music literally, as it was recorded in Ralph’s one car garage to get just the right sound ( I also think it had something to do with the price being right).  This is one fine and varied disc that for all its diversity has a concordant sound that seems to permeate the disc and hold all its varied pieces in one harmonious whole.
