This 18 year old singer songwriter has a lot going for him, and just may become one of those that rise from the South to become a familiar name to the tour circuit, if this, his second, disc is any indication of the talent. He wisely brought in Gerry Hansen to produce the disc; Hansen is a fine session drummer and toured recently with Randall Bramblett. He brought in a number of Bramblett’s band, including Randall on keyboard and organ, to help flesh out the sound on this disc and give it some added punch. Because the band is a working and touring unit they knew the ins and outs of playing together it made for a much more cohesive unit. 10 of the 12 cuts he employs the full band and the remaining 2 he is just accompanied by his acoustic guitar. He wrote 11

of the 12 songs, and co-wrote the 12th with Kurt Thomas. The maturity of his songs belie his dearth of years, I am not saying he has the maturity of a Dan Penn or Carol King, however the songs speak many more than 18 years, no matter how hard he has lived. The music is in a southern rock vein, think of the Allman Brothers cross-bred with a pop influence, and it has some wonderful potential to evolve into something bigger.
