This 2004 recording clocks in at a bit over an hour and is a great sample of this blues man’s continuing growth. He is the youngest old timer you will meet and though you may not know his name do not ignore him, he is a treasure that will light up your life.
Though he bears the name Detroit Jr., given to him by Cadillac Baby when he first came to the Windy City, the appellation denotes his place of origin rather than his style or residence. His
sporadic recording career is now on again with this release of his piano and vocal stylings, and here he is back by a solid band of veterans that know how to support his aims. This disc may contain some of his finest work, and he proudly
carries the Chicago piano tradition forward.
