This is a beautiful disc of songs from the heart by this woman who until now has been known for her songwriting for others. The diversity of artists who have recorded her songs is staggering and shows their appeal to singers of all matter of styles; Emmylou Harris, Neil Diamond, Bette Midler, Bonnie Raitt, and Faith Hill with the Grammy nominated, “This Kiss”. Her songs have been used in the movies including; “Message In A Bottle”, “Practical Magic”, and “The Rookie”.
Her writing is from her life, the wisdom she has gained, and the strength she has garnered from the living through the joys and pains it has involved. Using what she has been given in the lessons she has had to go through/endure, to build a tapestry that knows hurt and pain, but also how to use them to build a quiet strength and resilience.
All the songs on this disc are co-written with some writers of equal sensibilities; writers such as
Matt Rollings, Andy Bey, and Eric Kaz. The songs are all powerful testaments to the human spirit and what it has to endure to heal and survive in this modern world.
