This disc is a welcome throwback to the old-time, heavily influenced by the blues, raucous Zydeco of his cousin, Clifton Chenier. Roy is the father of 2 sons that have their own Zydeco bands (Chubby and Troy[a.k.a. Dikki Du]) so he is not one of the young guns, but he sure could teach some of them a couple of things about making a riotous, unrestrained and rocking disc. This is a disc that carries the flame that has hardly flickered since some of the old timers have passed on. You have here that raw mixture of a spring loaded quagmire of funk music riding piggy-back on the that raw swampy blues that only comes from those who live in that untamed, raw stratosphere, and it is done on a double row

accordion, combined with the Creole/Cajun music of the area. His band is tight and sticks with his runs and more than ably supports him the years in the Saturday night dance halls where they let you know how good you are in no uncertain terms have paid off big time. This is a disc that will have you up on your feet, or at least tapping your toes with your body craving to follow suit.
